“No accidents, injuries
or harm to the environment” |
|
|
|
This is an absolute goal
of the Responsible Care® Partnership of chemical and
petrochemical companies, associated companies and vendors. In 1998, the
Chemical Manufacturers Association (CMA) launched Responsible Care®
to respond to public concerns about the manufacture and use of chemicals.
Through Responsible Care®, member and partner companies are
committed to support a continuous effort to improve the industry’s
responsible management of chemicals. Responsible Care® is an
obligation of membership in the CMA, and requires member companies to:
|
| |
|
a
Continuously improve their health, safety and environmental performance
a
Listen and
respond to public concerns
a
Assist
each other to achieve optimum performance
a
Report
their goals and progress to the public
|
| |
|
At the heart of the
Responsible Care®, initiatives are the Six Codes of Management
Practice. The Codes focus on management practices in specific areas of
chemical operations and distribution. Members and Partners must make
continuous progress in attaining the goals of each Code. |
